“Not all uses are likely to be realized, but good health requires healthy lifestyle activities and being outdoors,” Bruno said. “The Nutrient Farm (Planned Unit Development) includes opportunities for several healthy lifestyle activities. Each use is envisioned as modest interpretations of what is possible. Anyone expecting dense build-out, Denver-like water parks or Nascar tracks will be disappointed.”
Perhaps Mr. Bruno is unaware that Garfield County already provides abundant free, accessible outdoor activities—without the need for memberships or commercial tourism.
In addition, the PUD’s version of “healthy lifestyle opportunities” comes with costs – both financial and impact to our community.
New Castle isn’t just a place—it’s our home. And it deserves better than a future shaped by outside interests. Once this is approved, there’s no undoing it. The time to act is now.
