Flying drones. Tesla Semi-Trucks. If you would like to see Nutrient Farm’s vision of “sustainability,” please visit their website (from a desktop computer). https://www.nutrientfarm.com/pages/sustainability

When we hear the word sustainability, we think of:

✅ Avoiding activities that harm the environment, natural resources, or communities.
✅ Preventing the depletion of natural resources to ensure long-term viability.

✅ Creating an economy and high quality of life while respecting the need to sustain natural resources and protect the environment.

Nutrient Farm claims to prioritize sustainability, but their proposed development tells a different story:

❌ How is disturbing wildlife, their migration patterns, and riparian habitats sustainable?
❌ How is building an adventure park, water park, pay-to-play hiking and biking trails, and an aircraft landing strip sustainable?
❌ How is creating unnecessary traffic, noise, and light pollution sustainable?
❌ How is overgrazing the land and neglecting basic land management practices like weed mitigation sustainable?
❌ How is planning to use a septic system for a meat processing facility sustainable?
❌ How is wasting large amounts of water through reverse osmosis—after already filtering pure water—considered sustainable? Not to mention the water-intensive attractions like a water park.
❌ How does a plan that introduces potential geohazards sustainable? –
❌ How are concerns around fire safety and evacuation sustainable?

❌ How is creating an increase in human and wildlife conflict sustainable? (“Black bear and mountain lion human conflict will likely be an issue.”)

🤖 Straight from the Nutrient Farm website—a vision for drones patrolling the skies and a futuristic development that looks more like a sci-fi dystopia than the small-town life we know and love.

Is this the future you want for New Castle?

We don’t, but we would love nothing more than a legitimate farm and ranch thriving in our community! And, even though Nutrient Farms has had the property since 2018, we do not see anything that remotely resembles the farm “vision” presented.
